They say when you go to Angkor Wat, It’s like heaven on earth. It truly is.
It’s my dream to travel to Cambodia and I have been anticipating this travel for the past 7 months. I am very lucky that I got to see this majestic beauty.
Its a once in a lifetime experience, I gained so many friends along the way. I am grateful that I was given the opportunity to travel and experience different culture.
I arrived in Siem Reap at past 10:00pm, My friend Theo picked me up at the bus station. Theo is from Singapore whom I met in Couchsurfing. We stop over for dinner as I am very very hungry and then went straight to our Host. Theo introduced me to our host Mike, He is living with his brother. The place is 10 minutes away from the city proper via tuktuk. He is really a gracious host and provided everything we need. We stayed there for 1 night.
My journey began on the second day as we explore Angkor Wat. I was like a kid very excited to see Disneyland for the first time. It’s the same reaction and anticipation.
This is a 1 day pass ticket, You will get this far from the Angkor Wat proper. There are many tourist especially in the morning because they want to see the sunrise but the lines are decent so waiting for your turn is not a hassle.
This is Angkor Wat proper. As you scroll down, You will see the intricate details of the temple and you will be astound by the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the Khmer People. I was blown away by the details of structure and how they build it without modern technology. It was really interesting.
